William Wilkerson Wiley was born in Hall County Georgia June 13, 1842, he was the son of Elijah M. Wiley and Hannah Smallwood Wiley. William married Sarah C. Head in Hall County Georgia August 11, 1868. William enlisted in the Confederate Army in Company E, 40th Georgia Infantry on March 4, 1862. He was wounded and captured at The Battle of Baker's Creek in Mississippi May 16, 1863. Admitted to a Prison Hospital there May 17 or 18, 1863, no other military record.
