FASENBECK, GRANDPA. Elmwood, Nebr. Dec. 22, 1910. Funeral services of Grandpa Fasenbeck, an old resident of Elmwood, was held from the Evangelical Church today at 2 P.M. Rev. Mr. Getts conducting services. Mr. Fasenbeck was 84 years old. Leaves wife and four children. Children all living away from here, were here for the funeral.

CHRIS FESENBECK, an early settler of this neighborhood died at his home in this city shortly after the noon hour Monday after an illness of long duration. Funeral services were held from the German Evangelical Church Wednesday afternoon and interment made in the Elmwood Cemetery. Funeral was largely attended, many being present who had known Mr. Fesenbeck for many years. He was a man of genial disposition and lived in the high esteem of his large acquaintaince.
Christian Fesenbeck was born January 5, 1827, in Barkheim, Wirttenberg, Germany, and fell asleep in Jesus December 19 at his home in Elmwood, Nebr. at ripe age of 83 years, 11 months, 19 days.
Old age was cause of death, he now enjoys a sweet rest for which he longed so dearly. Chris Fesenbeck cam to America in 1866 locating in Philadelphia, Penn. It was here, in 1867, where he was united in holy wedlock to Catharina Koenig. Five children came to bless their home, 2 sons and 3 daughters. One son preceded the father in death.
In 1874 he with family came west to Nebraska City locating on a farm near that place where he remained for three years. He then immigrated west ward locating on a farm near Unidilla. Here he remained until nearly seven yeans ago when he purchased a nice residence property in Elmwood and moved here to take up his final abode. He leaves to mourn his wife, four children, 18 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild and a host of friends. Funeral services were held from German Evangelical Church on Wednesday of last week at 1:30 by Pastor, Rev. H. Goetz using Genesis 48:21 in the German language, followed by Rev. Davis with a brief talk in English. Interment is in the Elmwood Cemetery.
