Born August 10, 1913 in Beaver County, Oklahoma to Franklin and Carrie (Wilson) Mahanay, she married William Eldert, Jr. on February 2, 1937 in Guymon, Oklahoma. He died April 3, 1981. She was also preceded in death by two daughters, Beulah Ibbotson and Bonnie Browder; one granddaughter; five brothers; and one sister.
Surviving are one daughter, Eulah (Roy) Gargus, Sr. of Manito; eight grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren; and a son-in-law, James Ibbotson of Manito.
A homemaker, Leola enjoyed quilting, sewing, gardening, reading, and spending time with her grandchildren.
A private graveside service will be at Glendale Memorial Gardens in Pekin.
