Paul was the son of Charles Henry and Elva (Jones) Lovejoy and attended school in Conconully. He married Ella Helen Meyers on December 31, 1929 at Omak. They lived for many years in Conconully, then moved to Chelan, Colville and Omak. Paul worked for the Washington State Game Commission, managing fish hatcheries. He retired in 1970 at Omak. They had one son, Donald.
