Mrs. Mary Rosina [Rosanna] Moore, 86, beloved resident of Shenandoah died at 9:30 o'clock Tuesday night, December 18th at her home on Second Street. She had been ill for one week.
A daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Davidson, she was born in January of 1864 in Hardin County, Kentucky; but had made her home in the Shenandoah community for 61 years. She married J. H. Moore who died nine years ago. She was a charter member of the Baptist Church and it is interesting to note that the first organizational meeting of this church was held in her home. Until declining health prevented, she was one of the most active and devout members of her church. Surviving are two sons; William Moore of Shenandoah, and Hume Moore of Louisiana; two daughters, Mrs. John Crouch of Elkton, Rt. 1, and Mrs. Nellie Lauck of Martinsburg, W. Va.; ten grandchildren, and eleven great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at the Baptist Church at 2:00 p.m. Friday with her former pastor, Rev. E. E. Sumpter in charge assisted by Rev. Lester T. Marsh. The body will remain at the Kyger Funeral Home until an hour before the service when it will be taken to the church to lie in state. Interment will be in the E. U. B. Cemetery.
