Phyllis Erke
Phyllis Loretta Erke, 101, died at her home in Bruce on Sunday, Aug. 30, 2009, due to natural causes.

She was born in Fond du Lac, on Feb. 18, 1908; a daughter of Martin and Lavina Marcoe Tates. She was married to Henry Erke in Chicago on Oct. 16, 1924. He preceded her in death in 1979.

Phyllis was a homemaker. She moved to Bruce in 1988 and regularly attended Nathaniel Lutheran Church in Bruce.

She is survived by her daughter Shirley Carlsen of Bruce; her son Gary (Suzanne) of Waukesha; 18 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; and 17 great-great-grandchildren

She was preceded in death by her three sons Henry, Kenneth and Robert; and six brothers and sisters.

Funeral services for Phyllis will be held on Tuesday; Sept. 1, at Nathaniel Lutheran Church in Bruce at noon with Rev. Larry Sturgis officiating. Friends may call after 10 a.m. until service time at the church.

The Nash-Jackan Funeral Home is assisting with the local arrangements.

Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, Sept. 2, at the Randle-Dable Funeral Home in Waukesha at noon with visitation from 10 a.m. Burial will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery in Waukesha next to her husband.
