Mortuary Notice Published on Wednesday, December 2, 1812 in the Federal Republican Newspaper (Georgetown, District of Columbia), in Volume VII; Issue 899, Page 3 as follows: "Died on the morning of the first instant, in the 35th year of his age, of a pulmonary complaint, DAVID PETER, Esq. He met the approaches of death with composure and firmness. In him, his relict has lost one of the tenderest of husbands; his children one of the most affectionate of fathers. His servants one of the best of masters; and Georgetown, one of the best and most useful of her citizens. The citizens of Georgetown are invited to attend the remains of Mr. Peter from his late dwelling to the Presbyterian burial ground, this afternoon at 3 o'clock."
