Maude Beanstick wa born June 5, 1894 in Oklahoma Indian Territory near Pawnee, OK, and departed this life on July 14, 1996, at her home in Welling, OK at the age of 102 years, 1 month and 8 days. She was a homemaker and historical author who contributed historical articles to the Goingsnake Messenger newspaper. She was especially proud of an article she wrote about early Oklahoma City that was placed in the Oklahoma Archives.
Maude was an outdoors person who loved hunting relics. She also had a love for bird watching and could identify different species by their calls.
Her family remembers her as a very honest and unselfish person.
Maude was preceded in death by her parents, john Wilse Rogers and Flora Belle Perse Rogers; her husband, Houston Beanstick, who she married in 1915; one daughter Helen Rossignol; one brother, Charles William Rogers; a sister, Pearl Skitt; two grandsons, JimmyDale Caughman and Ronald Lee Chitwood, and one great-grandson, Jackie Girdner.
She is survived by two daughters; Sybil Caughman and Alpha Ford, both of Welling, OK; 10 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
Services were held Wednesday, July 17 in the Roberts-Reed-Culver Chapel with Brother Byron North of Ft. Worth, TX officiating.
Interment followed at Clear Springs Cemetery under the direction of Roberts- Reed-Culver Funeral Home.
