Lillian died in the Prospect Park Nursing Home in Prospect Park Borough, Delaware County, about ten miles from center-city Philadelphia.

She had recently lived in her home at 100 Harwicke Road, Springfield, Delaware County, PA. Prior to her second husband, Lynn Henry "Hank" LeBaron's death, and her residence at Prospect Park, she shared leisurely times at hers and Hank's "Le Barn"; their converted Pennsylvania Deutsch barn summer home. "Le Barn" was located in East Stroudsburg, Monroe County, PA in the Pocono Mountains near the Delaware Water Gap, on Gapview Drive, RFD #3. Our family has numerous letters from Lillian depicting family and friends' visitations at Le Barn...always, a good time was had by all!

Her youngest son George, his wife Virginia and their two daughters, Judith and Janet (me), visited this lovely place several times. Living in Texas, it was a long trip! Judy and I would like to have still owned it. The LeBarons made numerous improvements on the place for habitation, including a smokehouse, screened porch, kitchen, bedrooms, and they had a huge pond dredged. Fishing in the Summer and skating in the Winter! It was a lovely "get-away" for Lillian and Hank. He was active in his real estate and mortgage loan business, LeBaron Realty, Baltimore Pike, in Springfield, Delaware County, PA, until his very late years. He was highly respected, and a "Pillar of the Community".

Their home church was The Protestant Episcopal Church of The Redeemer in Springfield.

Henry's desire was to be buried in his home state of New York in the LeBaron Family Plot. Lillian's wish was to be buried next to her First Love, (and first husband), John Kendig Handwork, (who died suddenly in 1921) in the Fairview Cemetery in South Coatesville, Chester County, Pennsylvania.

Grandmother Lillian is responsible for almost all of the Genealogy information we have on our related families of Balentine, Parker, DeHaven, Handwork, Hoyt, Kendig, Plankinton, Taggart, Weaver, and Wood. Also, her Adopted Family of Tompkins. She passed on many notes, letters, photographs, memorabilia, etc. Such a Blessing!

Further information on the above surnames has been found through our Family Tree membership at www.ancestry.com.

Note: Lillian was born in either West Chester or West Goshen Township; she always claimed to have been born in Kennett Square; all in Chester County, Pennsylvania, USA. We have found no Birth Record as yet to verify any of those towns.

She was Adopted 11 May 1892 (aged about four years, three months) by William H. & Ellie A. (nee Greenfield) Tompkins, soon after her Mother, Anna Rebecca (nee Plankinton) Parker had died 3 Mar 1892 from Chronic Tuberculosis.

Two of her older siblings (a boy and a girl) had died prior to their Mother's death, and the youngest sister died shortly after that.

The two eldest sisters survived to old age, and died before Lillian did. Those sisters were old enough to remain at home with their Father, after their Mother's death, while attending school. Since their Father worked full time, he could not leave them in charge of two Toddlers (Lillian & Hattie). Therefore, Lillian and her youngest sister were Adopted. The Adoptions were by two different local, known in the community, families.

At one time, Lillian lived at 253 Dean Street in West Chester, with her Adoptive Parents, The Tompkins.
