Laid To Rest
Funeral services for PFC
Cleatis L. Burgess who died in
Vietnam on Oct. 19, were held
Thursday afternoon at Zion Grove
Assembly of God.
The Rev. Larry L. Shelton,
pastor of Zion Grove and the
Rev. Young Bolton officiated.
Burial was in the church
cemetery with full military
honors.
PFC Burgess' death was
attributed to "sudden hostile action"
while serving in Vietnam. He had
been in service since November 5,
1969 and in Vietnam for the past
five months.
He was reared on Route 2, Meigs
and was born there on December 29,
1949. His parents are Mr. and Mrs.
Cleatis T. Burgess.
PFC Burgess was a member of the
Zion Grove Assembly of God.
Survivors in addition to his
parents are a brother, Jimmy Burgess,
Meigs, and a sister, Miss Jerri Burgess,
Williamsville, N.Y.; a grandmother,
Mrs. Sally P. Burgess, Miami, Fla.
