Tulia, Texas — Doris F. Dudley, 82, died Sunday, September 6, 2009 in Lubbock. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Tuesday, September 8, 2009 at the Kornerstone Funeral Directors Chapel. Burial will follow in Silverton Cemetery in Silverton, Texas under the direction of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Tulia. A visitation will be held from 6:00 to 7:00 pm on Monday, September 7, 2009 at the funeral home.
Doris was born May 25, 1927 in Lonestar, Floyd Co., TX to Charlie and Irene Holt. She moved to Silverton at the age of 14. She and her husband Norlan graduated from Silverton High School in 1944. They married in 1947. Mr. Dudley started in the banking business in Silverton. They moved to Hart, then to Earth then back to Tulia. She retired from the Swisher County Appraisal District. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the VFW and a member of the First United Methodist Church in Tulia. She was also a homemaker.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Norlan in 1998 and a brother, Charles Travis Holt.
She is survived by three daughters: Joan Vining and husband Brian of Lake Tawakoni, TX, Laura McNamara of Lubbock and Donna Pigg and husband Clayton of Quitaque, 9 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
