Lorena as she was called was born in Ashland, Okla. to John B. & Ophelia Chote Joplin on Feb. 9, 1914. John & Ophelia died three days apart in 1918 with the flu. Lorena was 4 1/2 years old at this time and her grandmother got custody of the Lorena and her two brothers. She raised them in Mena, Arkansas. Lorena graduated from Mena High School and moved to Tulsa, Ok. to work. She met and married Roy O. Womble in Tulsa and they became the parents of three children Larry Dale memorial #419394806, Inice Ann, and Nancy Lorena.
