Adams Eliza (Gonser) was born in New Bedford, Holmes County, Ohio Feb. 20, 1853, the youngest of a family of 8 boys and 5 girls. She died at her home on S. Main St. in Kendallville Sept 13, aged 46 years 6 months and 24 days. The father and mother, George and Sarah Gonser, died when Eliza was a child and thus early the family was scattered, some of them to meet no more. Of this large family, two survive today, Eli of Millersburg, Ohio, and Mrs. Mary Ringle of Kendallville. Soon after the parents' death the young girl came with 2 sisters and one brother to Kendallville. The brother, later Judge Samuel Gonser, went west and settled at Des Moines, Iowa, where he died 14 years ago. One sister, Lucinda, died in Kendallville 30 years ago, but a few years after her arrival here. On April 16, 1874 Eliza married Adolph Adams. Funeral from the Church of Christ on Sept. 16. Burial, Lake View Cemetery. ^ 9-22-1899
