January 21, 1834 - Christian Barckert of Richmond Twp» County
of Berks, Pennsylvania, aged 82 years and upwards. He enlisted in
1776 in company of Capt. Jacob Mauser and regiment of Col. Henry Haller, and was at the time a resident of Maidencreek Twp. , served in said company in what was called the Flying Camp as a corporal for full time of his enlistment 6 months. Company marched from Reading through Trenton New Jersey, Long Island, White Plains, and Kingsbridge. Engaged in the battles of Long Island and White Plains. After enlistment was honorably discharged. Jost Sutor and Stephen Baldy were lieutenants of his company.
Cannot recall the names of any regular officers other than George Washington and Lord Sterling.
