Edith Anita Jones Adams went to be with her Lord on Monday, April 14, 2014, surrounded by her loving family. Anita was born in Bentonville, Texas, lived there until 1939, moved to Pledger, Texas and then on to Wharton, Texas where she finished school. She lived in Houston, Texas until Marion returned from the Army. Upon his return Anita and Marion were married June 15, 1945. They moved back to Bentonville where she lived until her death.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Marion F. Adams; her parents; one brother, Marvin Jones; two sisters, Freda Mae Whitt and Mildred Flynt.
She is survived by her daughter, Joyce (Alan) Jackson of League City, Texas; her son, Keith Adams of Agua Dulce, Texas; five grandchildren, Robyn (Jerry) Brest of Agua Dulce, Texas, Zak (Rhonda) Adams of Alice, Texas, Greg (April) Adams of Montgomery, Texas, Sarah (Russell) Jones of San Antonio, Texas and Allen (Svetlana) Hensley of Bentonville, Texas; ten grandchildren, Brandon Rickman, Cooper Moreno, Megan Brest, Josie Adams, Coleson Adams, Jaden Adams, Miryk Hensley, Brenna Adams, Quentin Jones and Jordan Adams; three sisters, Frances (Norman) Gregory, Elna Kelly and Velda (Roy) Rogers; one brother, Travis (Sandra) Jones all of Conroe; four sisters-in-law, Bernice Foster of Alice, Doris Brandt of Agua Dulce, Ida Mae (Doyle) Light of Alice and Ruth Blundell of Rockport.
She was lovingly taken care of in her final years by Chris Garcia, Teresa Thompson, Dalia Luna, Norma Ramos and Eva Tijerina.
Visitation for family and friends is Wednesday, April 16, 2014 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Holmgreen Mortuary in Alice. Funeral service will be held on Thursday, April 17, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at the Holmgreen Mortuary Chapel. Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Park Cemetery.
