Alfred (Pappy) F. Allred, 82, of Kansas City, Kan., passed away on August 12, 2009, at his home. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. on Friday, August 14, 2009, at Maple Hill Funeral Home. Burial will be in Shawnee Mission Memory Gardens. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

He was an avid salvage hauler the past 30 years. He is survived by six sons, Francis Allred of Ottawa, Kan., Leon Allred of Vassar, Kan., Floyd Allred of Kansas City, Kan., Alfred D. Allred of Kansas City, Kan., William Allred of Overland Park, Kan., James Allred of Eldorado, Kan.; two daughters, Vella Ellison and Erma Adkins, both of Kansas City, Kan.; two brothers, Wesley Allred of Phoenix, Ariz., Walter Allred of Henretti, Mo.; 38 grandchildren, and 59 great grandchildren.
