~ Colette Cerafice Obituary ~

Loving mother Colette Cerafice, 69, of Kelso passed away July 29, 2009, at home.

She was born May 9, 1940, in Derry City, North Ireland, to Annie and Henry (McQuigg) Heaney. She moved to Brooklyn, N.Y., in 1961, to Longview in 1988 and to Kelso in 2002.

Colette was a homemaker who enjoyed listening to opera, knitting and old movies. She had a great sense of humor, and was strong-willed, loving and caring.

She married Thomas A. Cerafice in 1959. They later divorced.

Survivors include a son, Gregory T. Cerafice of Plantation, Fla.; two daughters, Darlene R. Cerafice-Kirsh of Newbury Park, Calif., and Dawn A. Cerafice-Grochan of Westfield, N.J.; three sisters, her twin, Harriet Smoak of Longview, Dorothy Williams of Pensacola, Fla., and Betty Gilbert of Hudson, Fla.; five grandchildren, Bryan, Dylan, Ethan, Ryan and Christopher; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A sister, Joyce Plummer, preceded her in death.

A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Cascade Northwest Funeral Chapel at Green Hills Memorial Gardens & Crematory. Deacon Fred Johnson of St. Rose Catholic Church will officiate.
