~ Maxine Casey Obituary ~
Maxine Elizabeth Casey, 63, of Tacoma went to be with her Lord Jesus Aug. 28, 2008.
She was born Feb. 7, 1945, in Portland. She graduated from Kelso High School and Lower Columbia College.
Dolly owned Dolly's Antiques & Things before working in retail and as a caregiver. She was a unique and loving individual. The was saved as a young girl at the Salvation Army. She taught Sunday school and Sunbeams at the Salvation Army for many years. She was a founding member of Cowlitz Old Time Car Club and enjoyed playing Bunko, bowling, gardening, shopping at thrift and antique stores and spending time with family and friends.
She married Mel Miller in 1962. They divorced in 1973. In 1977, she married Grady Buckner. They divorced in 1980.
Dolly was dearly loved by her family.
Survivors include five children and their spouses, Lisa and Daniel Bowser of Longview, David and Tonya Miller and Matt and Wendy Miller, all of Puyallup, Wilma "Beth" and Todd Palmer of Kelso and Beau Buckner of Kalama; her stepfather, Bob Rose; and 21 grandchildren, Amy, Alexander, Jaquie, Anna, Abby, Meriah, Abraham, Hannah, Isiah, Mathias, Rachel, Victoria, Noah, Grant, Sara, Madeleine, Barbara, David, Ian, Emily and Elijah.
Dolly was preceded in death by her mother, Amy Rose; her father, Edwin Childs; and a brother, Bernie Childs.
A funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday at the Salvation Army in Longview. Viewings will be held from 1 to 5 p.m. today and 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday at Dahl-McVicker Funeral Home. Dolly will be laid to rest next to her mother and brother at Cowlitz Memorial Gardens in Kelso.
