SHREVEPORT -- Services for Minnie L. Philan, 97, of Shreveport will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday February 11, 1989 at Rose-Neath's Southside Chapel. Dr. Jimmie Tharpe, pastor of Baptist Tabernacle on Hollywood will officiate. Burial will be at Sardis Cemetery in Winn Parish, La.

She died Thursday, February 9, 1989 at Willis Knighton Medical Center after a brief illness. She was a native of Natchitoches Parish, La., a homemaker and a member of the Baptist Tabernacle of Shreveport.

She was preceded in death by her husband, two sons and three grandchildren.

She is survived by one son, A. O. Philan of Shreveport; four daughters, Bertie Melton, Bertha Foster and Lucille DePoint, all of Shreveport and Audell Lindsay of Waskom, Texas; one sister, Ruthie Hughe, 15 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren and 6 great, great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Willis Lindsay, Ronald DePoint, Richard Philan, Meredith Matthews, Clark Wallace, and Richard Hedlund.

Honorary pallbearers, Hershel O. Foster, Walter C. Lindsay, Sonny Wittleborg, William J. LePoint, Howard Hughes, Robert Hughes, Shirley Hughes.
