Dr. Robert McBride, Medical Leader, Dies
Dr. Robert B. McBride, 73, of 3525 Turtle Creek blvd., a long time Dallas Physician and medical leader, died here Wednesday.
A native of Collin County, Dr. McBride came to Dallas in 1912 after being graduated from the University of Texas Medical School.
He was a diagnostician, specializing in internal medicine and cardiac problems, and retired in 1964.
He organized the Dallas Tuberculosis Association in 1917 and was the organization's first president. He was a charter member and past president of the Texas club of Internists and helped organize the Dallas Heart Association, of which he was also a past president. He was also a member, and president in 1934, of the Baylor Medical Center Staff.
He was a member of the American College of Physicians, American Medical Association, Texas Medical Association, American Heart Association, Dallas County Medical Society, and Texas Academy of Internal Medicine.
He was a member of the Brook Hollow County Club, Idlewild Club, Hella Temple Shrine, and the First Baptist Church.
During World War I, he served in France with Base Hospital 26 and was discharged a lieutenant colonel.
Survivors: Wife, two daughters, a brother, a sister, and two grandchildren.
Rosary will be recited at 8 p.m. Thursday and funeral services at 1 p.m. Friday, both in Sparkman's Funeral Chapel, 2115 Ross. Burial will be in Calvary Hill Cemetery.
