He was born November 19, 1929 in Rockport, IN and has been a Loughman Community Leader for the last 50 years. Dan retired as an electrical engineer after 35 years of service with Martin-Marietta, also retiring as Fire Chief of the Loughman Volunteer Fire Department. He was a member of St. Mark's Episcopal Church, Haines City; a veteran of the US Navy, and President of the Central Florida Day Lily Club.
Dan is survived by his wife, of 52 years, Evia Loye Stateler; children, Terry Wilson, Karen (Danny) McCormick, Kathie (Gary) Skrobiak, Kellisa (Harvey) Morgan, Allen (Cam) Stateler, Kamie (Jay) Scarborough, Kristen Stateler; sister, Dorothy Anderson; grandchildren, Danielle McCormick, Bobby Roberts, Dalton Brewer, Jacob Scarborough, Jeht and Kason Stateler and great grandchild, Payton McCormick.
Visitation will be Tuesday, 7/28/09 from 11 am to 12 noon with services following at noon at Davenport United Methodist Church. Oak Ridge Funeral Care, Haines City in charge of arrangements.
