Mrs. Brown died Monday in her home. She had been in failing health a year and in serious condition several weeks.
Employed at the Elanjay Corp. until her retirement in December, 1970. Mrs. Brown was a member of the Manilla Christian Church, and its Ladies Aid Society, the Ladies Auxiliary of the Eagles Lodge of Greensburg, the Amicitia Club, and the Homemakers Social Study Club.
Born March 31, 1912 at her home where she resided her entire life, Mrs. Brown was the daughter of Conrad F. and Sally (Gruell) Gahimer. She was first married in 1935 to Leonard D. Evans who died in 1963. On Dec. 5, 1970 she was married to Kenneth E. Brown, and he survives.
Also surviving are a son, Donald Richard Evans, R.R. 6 Shelbyville; a brother, Carl Gahimer, R.R. 6 Shelbyville, and three grandchildren.
Services for Mrs. Edna Irene Brown, 59, R.R. 6, Shelbyville, will be Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. at the Carmony Funeral Home here. The Rev. James Horner will officiate and burial will be in East Hill Cemetery in Rushville. Friends may call at the funeral home at any time.
