Lorraine was born January 15, 1924, in Arlington, South Dakota, to Michael and Lillian (Thomas) Bennett. She worked for the Telephone Company and IBM. After retirement she attended years of classes at Unity Village. Lorraine loved to paint, write poetry and make quilts for her grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Donald P. Alexander, a daughter, Barbara Cornwell, and one brother. Survivors include her daughter Judy and her husband, Dr. V.P. Rao of Fredericksburg, Virginia; son-in-law Thomas E. Cornwell; six grandchildren and their spouses, and 15 great grandchildren. Also surviving are two brothers and two sisters.
