Lucille M. Barton, 94, of Oxford, formerly of Arkansas City, died Monday, March 19, 2007, at the Riverview Manor Nursing Home in Oxford. Graveside funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, March 23, 2007, in the Hope Cemetery, in Arkansas City. The Rev. Danny Ginn will officiate. At the family's request, no visitation will be scheduled.

Lucille was born Dec. 24, 1912, the daughter of Ben Clyde and Rose Anna Coffland McEowen in Ashton. Lucille taught for many years and retired from teaching first grade from Roosevelt Elementary in 1978.

Survivors include her daughter; Janet Dunbar, of Geuda Springs; sister, Nell Sears, of Long Beach, Calif.; five grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Leonard Barton; and son, Gary Barton; one brother and one sister.

A memorial has been established with the South Central Kansas Medical Center Women's Auxiliary. Contributions may be made through the funeral home. Arrangements are under the direction of the Oxford Funeral Service, 104 N. Sumner, Oxford, KS 67119.
