Sondra Lynn Hargis Arthur, 54 years of age, of Somerset, Kentucky, passed away on Sunday, July 19, 2009 at the University of Kentucky Medical center in Lexington, Kentucky.
She was born on July 12, 1955 in Somerset, Kentucky, the daughter of Clemon and Joyce J. Hargis. She was a homemaker and member of the New Hope Baptist Church in the Bent community of Kentucky. Sondra loved quilting, crafts, and NASCAR. She was an excellent cook and enjoyed spending time with her family.
She was survived by her husband, Danny Arthur, whom she married on December 26, 1976 in Somerset, Kentucky; a son, Jason (and Kayce) Arthur of Bowling Green, Kentucky; a daughter, Crystal (and Bradford) Elmore of Raleigh, North Carolina; her parents, Clemon and Joyce Hargis of Shopville, Kentucky; a goddaughter, Tanasha Manning of Stanford, Kentucky; and longtime friends, Lewis, Thera, and Michael Dockery of Somerset, Kentucky.
Visitations were held on Tuesday, July 21st, 2009 after 5:00 p.m. at the Lake Cumberland Funeral Home in Somerset, Kentucky.
Funeral services were held on Wednesday, July 22nd, 2009 at 1:00 p.m. in the Chapel of the Lake Cumberland Funeral Home with Bro. Dalous Sears officiating.
Burial will be in the Pine Thickett Cemetery in Somerset, Kentucky.
