William McIntyre was born in Scotland on July 4, 1835, son of John H McIntyre and Jane Drummond McIntyre. He was the brother of Hugh (1828- 1862), Catherine (1833-1910), Annie (1834-1870), Dougald (1836-1863), Margaret (1839- ), Daniel Donald (1836-1863), Jane Isabella (1849-1909), Johnie (1849-1854) and Peter R (1850-1934). He arrived in United States on September 15, 1851 at the Port of New York. He departure was from Glasgow, Scotland aboard the Ship Statira Morse. The McIntyres settled in Caledonia, New York.
William married Lucy Orr in 1867. They had four children Donald Hugh, John Colin, William Orr and Jennett Robertson.
He died at his home on Mcintyre Road in Caledonia.
