Funeral services for Dr Joseph Aubrey Beck, 53, were held at 10 a m today (Sept 26, 1963) at the First Presbyterian Church with the Rev Emery Roy officiating.
Dr Beck was found Monday morning at his room at the Capital Hotel in Lincoln. Lancaster county deputy sheriff Kenneth Nelson, acting coroner, said an autopsy revealed that death was caused by an overdose of barbiturates.
Survivors include his wife, Neva Bell of Broken Bow; a son, Roger of Seoul, France; and a daughter , Janet of Broken Bowl a brother Dr V L Beck of Hastings; and a sister Mrs Ruth Wollitz of Martinez, Calif.
Interment was in the Broken Bow cemetery with Schneringer-Johnson & Govier Bros. Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
A memorial has be established in his name to the Presbyterian church.
