Services were held at the Church of the Nazarene Monday afternoon for Mrs. Clara E. Treece, 72, who died at Pemiscot County Memorial Hospital last Saturday, June 20. The Rev. Harvey Rathbun and Rev. Jesse Beatty officiated and burial was in Maple cemetery, with H.S. Smith Funeral Home service.
Mrs. Treece was born at Greenville, Mo. on February 4, 1892, the daughter of William and Tabitha Montgomery and the family moved to Pemiscot county when she was a young girl. She was a member of the Pilgrim Holiness Church.
In Caruthersville, on September 13, 1910, she was married to Clyde Ettress Treece, who survives. She also leaves three sons, Bobbie Treece of St. Louis, Dewey and Billy Jack Treece of this city; three daughters, Mrs. Miriam Smith of Dupo, Ill., Mrs. Audrey Wade and Mrs. Marjorie Stewart of Caruthersville; A twin brother Claude Montgomery, of Hiram, Mo.; a sister, Mrs. Osa Bennett, of this city; fifteen grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.
