Oma Lewallen Freels, 82 of Sunbright, passed away Wednesday, March 24, 1993, at the Oak Ridge Methodist Medical Center. She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph Lewallen and Verda Thompson Lewallen; her husband, Kermit C. Freels Sr. She was a member of the Elgin Church of Christ and retired in 1976 after teaching at the Sunbright School for many years. Mrs. Freels is survived by grandchildren, Kathy and Michael Steelman of Wartburg, Sherry Freels of Petros and Susie Sexton of Knoxville, and Pam and Walt Richardson of Fort Benning, Ga.; great-grandchildren, Derek and Jeremy Richardson; sisters, Mrs. Charlene Hughett of Robbins and Mrs. Mona Mount of Wartburg; sisters-in-law, Mrs. Bessie Kelly of Harriman, Mrs. Margaret Freels of Sunbright; and a host of nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held Friday, March 26, at 8 p.m. at the Schubert Funeral Home Chapel in Sunbright with Bro. Jim Day and Bro. Jerry Carmichael officiating.
