They were both outstanding Christian characters, modest, unassuming, but working Christians, living what they professed, as can be seen by the following quotation from a speech made by him at the 60th anniversary of their wedding (Dec. 23, 1929): "Yes, we have been married 60 years. She has been a faithful wife. We have raised a family of five children, all have gone to college, two have gone to foreign fields. They all are active church workers and prominent in the places where they live. I think I made a wise choice of a wife. Yes, I think it was the smartest thing I ever did, and now I have a bright outlook in the future. Wife says there is to be no divorce."
He spent several years in Axtell, Kansas, later he lived at Topeka, Kansas, Eagle Rock, Calif., and is now with his daughter Margaret McCall. His wife died Dec. 28, 1938.
