He was born April 9th, 1907 in Dyer County, Tenn., the son of the late John Spencer and Dollie Brumley Cummings. He moved to Pemiscot County with his parents when he was six years old.
He married Ora June Eads March 8th, 1926 in Belleville, Ill.
Mr. and Mrs. Cummings owned and operated a grocery store at Stubtown until he retired in 1975.
Survivors include his wife of Caruthersville; one daughter, Mrs. Dollie Harrison of Caruthersville; two brothers, Odell Cummings of Blytheville, Ark., and Otis Cummings of Caruthersville; two sisters Mrs. Pauline ? and Mrs. Flora Rose, both of St. Louis; 13 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
Pallbearers were James Ralph Murphy, Harold Stricklin, Robert Ray, Harold Pery, Charles House, and Carl "Jiggs" Dodd.
