Mr. Harvey Clarke a native of Birmingham, AL and a long time resident of Mobile, AL died on Monday June 29, 2009 at a local health care facility. Mr. Clarke was a graduate of Murphy High School and Auburn University, he served in the US Navy during World War II as a Radar Instructor, he was an electrical engineer for over 45 years. Mr. Clarke was a long time member of Dauphin Way Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon. He was preceded in death by his wife of 59 years Iva Williams Clarke. Mr. Clarke is survived by his daughter Linda Clarke (John) Willcox of Mobile, AL, son Jim (Jackie) Clarke of Daphne, AL, brother Fred W. (Nelda) Clarke Jr., of Birmingham, AL, five grandchildren Leigh Ann (Steve) Howell of Mobile, AL, Cheryl (Clay) Ellis of Wilmington, NC, Trevor Clarke, Colin Clarke and Devin Clarke all of Daphne, AL, five great grandchildren Tyler Howell, Hunter Howell both of Mobile, AL, Benjamin Ellis, Bradley Ellis, and Will Ellis all of Wilmington, NC, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held from the Chapel of Pine Crest Funeral Home on Thursday July 2, 2009 at 11AM. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday from 10 until 11AM. Interment will be in Pine Crest Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Dauphinway Baptist Church.
