Mrs. Cecilia D Aggen, 88, long-time resident of New Holstein, died Thursday following a lingering illness.
She was born in Town New Holstein, Calumet County, March 25, 1869, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Claus Lau, and attended the district school. On June 8, 1888, she was married at New Holstein to William Thede and the couple made its home at Cavalier, N. D., for seven years, when Mr. Thede died and she returned to New Holstein. On Oct 12, 1920, she was united in marriage to Simon Aggen at Hew Holstein. He died in 1926.
Survivors are four sons, Edmond Thede, Colby; Alwin, Olympia, Wash.; John, Libby, Mt.; and William, New Holstein; a daughter, Mrs. Albert (Dora) Jochimsen, New Holstein; 21 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. Mrs. Aggen was the last of a family of eight children, having been preceded in death by five sisters and two brothers.
Funeral services will be held at St. John's United Church of Christ of which Mrs. Aggen was a member. The Rev. A. George Schmid will officiate and burial will be in New Holstein city cemetery.
