Hildegarde C. Zakrzewski, 86, of South Bend, IN, passed away at 5:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 23, 2009 at Hospice House in South Bend.
She was born on December 14, 1922 to the late Alex and Tillie (Jurgonski) Kaminski in New Carlisle, IN, and was a lifelong area resident. Along with her parents; four brothers, Clem, Ernest, Ralph, and Claude Kaminski also preceded her in death.
On June 1, 1946, as Hildegarde C. Kaminski, she married William M. Zakrzewski at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in South Bend, IN. He died on March 9, 1991.
She is survived by her daughter, Linda Zakrzewski of South Bend, IN; her son, David Zakrzewski of South Bend, IN; one sister, Dolores (Fred) Borsch of South Bend, IN; and one brother, Clarence (Joyce) Kaminski of South Bend, IN.
Mrs. Zakrzewski was a member of Holy Family Parish. She enjoyed bowling and crocheting.
Visitation will be from 2-8 p.m. Thursday, June 25, 2009 at Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3545 N. Bendix Drive, South Bend, IN, where a Parish Rosary will be prayed at 5:00 p.m.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, June 26, 2009 at Holy Family Catholic Church. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery.
