Mary Alice Bowlin, 88, passed away Friday, Sept. 26, 2008, at the Heritage Hall Health Care, Big Stone Gap, Va.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph (Pete) W. and Easter Ann Meade; a daughter, Jewell Osborne; and two sons, Clive Bowlin and Jack Bowlin.
She attended the May Town Tabernacle Church.
Surviving are a son-in-law, Ray Osborne of Chilhowie, Va.; a daughter-in-law, Virginia Bowlin of Abingdon, Va.; a grandson, David Huffman and his wife Tamyra of Coeburn, Va.; two granddaughters, Regina Meade and her husband Eddie and Kim Winebarger and her husband Shane, all of Abingdon; six great-grandchildren, John, Jennifer, Allison, Jacob, Emily and Clayton; four great-great-grandchildren, Andy, Hannah, Katie and Brady; a brother, Allen Meade of Abingdon; two sisters, Delphie Brummitte of Sandusky, Ohio, and Gazella (Sis) Richardson of Coeburn; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, Sept. 27, 2008, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Sturgill Funeral Home, 310 Sixth St. N.W., Coeburn, Va. Funeral services will be conducted at 7 p.m. Saturday in the Sturgill Funeral Home Chapel, Coeburn, with Brother Les Ritchie officiating. Graveside services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 28, 2008, at the Greenwood Acres Cemetery Coeburn. The family and friends will meet at 10:30 a.m. Sunday at the funeral home to go in procession to the cemetery.
Sturgill Funeral Homes, 310 Sixth St. N.W., Coeburn, VA 24230, is in charge of arrangements.
