She was born, March 18, 1918, at Lake End, Louisiana, the daughter of the late Toney and Loretta Trabona Butcalis.
Her family moved to Pine Bluff when she was 3 years old. She was reared and attended Pine Bluff High School.
She was a homemaker and a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. She also was a past member of the Catholic Daughters of the Americas and the Altar Society.
She enjoyed reading and crocheting.
She is survived by two sons, Charles Barbarotto of Murfreesboro, Tennessee, Robert Barbarotto of Pine Bluff; a daughter, Rosemary Barbarotto of Pine Bluff; a sister, Sara Gaston of Pine Bluff; eight grandchildren; and fifteen great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John A. Barbarotto, Sr., whom she married on September 28, 1939 in Pine Bluff; a son, Dr. John A. Barbarotto, Jr.; six brothers, Paul, Joe, Toney, Vick, Sam and Charles Butcalis; two sisters, Josephine Barbarotto and Loretta Butcalis.
A Funeral Mass was held, Friday, February, 23, 2007, at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Reverend Monsignor Jack Harris officiating.
Burial followed in Graceland Cemetery.
