As can be seen, the base of the headstone is still in place but the headstone has broken into pieces. I believe this to be William Thomas Whitmore first born of James and Ann E. Whitmore. My rational: Willie T as a son is in the 1870 census as being 3 years old and he is not in the 1880 or subsequent census. There are five burial plots for the James Whitmore family. From north to south they are: Johney born after 1870 census, died 1872; Tomey born Jan 1873 died Nov 1874; unmarked pile of broken stones; next in line Ann E Whitmore died 1886; then James died 1894. In summary, 1872,1874,?,1886, and 1894.
