Southern Pines Jan 5— Paul T. Barnum, real estate and insurance broker, died at his home here this morning from a heart attack. Mr. Barnum a former mayor of Southern Pines was a leader in civic affairs of the town. He was 53 years of age. Surviving are his widow Mrs. Elizabeth G Barnum of Southern Pines, three daughters: Sarah Jane Barnum of Dallas, Texas; Bonnie Barnum of Winston-Salem and Betsy Barnum of Southern Pines and his father S. A. Barnum of California, Penn.
