Lifetime Bristow area resident, Franklin M. Vaughan was born on April 15, 1941 to Lydia Vaughan in Slick, Oklahoma. He departed this life on May 24, 2009 in Bristow, Oklahoma at the age of 68 years, one month, and nine days.

On July 19, 1963 Franklin Vaughan married Ruth Holbrook in Bristow and to this union three children were born. Franklin was employed by Webco as a fabricator. He attended Faith Baptist Church in Slick. Franklin enjoyed fishing, hunting, and being outside. But most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his family.

Franklin is survived by wife, Ruth Vaughan of Bristow; three children, Shelley Gee and her husband, Don, of Bristow, Billy Vaughan and his wife, Mara, of Okemah, and Tami Winn and her husband, Jeff, of Bristow; eight grandchildren; and 5 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Glade and Sudie Vaughan; his mother, Lydia; and his step-dad, Frank Clowes.

Funeral Services will be 2pm, Thursday, May 28, 2009 at First Assembly of God Church in Bristow with Pastor Steve Lamberson officiating. Interment will follow in Bristow City Cemetery.
