Gertrude Mae Bird, 82, of Pinckneyville died Friday, Nov. 4, 1977, at Memorial Hospital of Belleville.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Pinckneyville.
Mrs. Bird was born March 5, 1895, in Benton, to Rodney and Louisa Killingsworth Wolfe.
She married Jacob Bird on Dec. 10, 1911, in Pinckneyville. He died Aug. 26, 1968. Her parents, one brother, two sisters and one great-grandchild also preceded her in death.
Survivors include two sons, Henry of Murphysboro and Howard of Du Quoin; four daughters, Inez Tanner and Eva Ahlers, both of Pinckneyville; Ruby Smith of Wentzville, MO.; and Marcella Ballheimer of Hayti, MO.; 14 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the Pyatt Funeral Home in Pinckneyville. Burial will be in Mueller Hill Cemetery, Pinckneyville.
