Claris is survived by daughters, Jean E. Clark, Columbus, and Ruth E. Thompson, Kingston; sons and daughters-in-law, John E. and Betty Bennett, Frankfort, and Claris Edward Jr. and Patricia Bennett, Kingston; 15 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Debra (Bennett) Park; two sons-in-law, Kenneth Clark and Dale Thompson; a brother, Jerimaha Bennett; a sister, Dorothy; two half-brothers; and four half-sisters.
Mr. Bennett, a retired carpenter and electrician, was a lifetime member of Yellowbud United Methodist Church where he was Sunday School Superintendent, led the singing, and was a delegate to the Methodist Conference for many years. he was also on the building fund committee and help build the church parsonage. For 77 years, he dedicated his life to building the kingdom for Christ's sake.
Services were entrusted to Hill Funeral Home of Kingston, Ohio.
