Walter Denny was the s/o Walter & Mary Denny having migrated to MS ca 1810 and resided in Greene co., MS {present day George co., MS after 1910). Walter had 7 siblings: David L. Denny, Nancy Denny Havard, and Tinzie Denny Havard who all migrated to Angelina co., TX. His sisters Malinda Denny Turner and Elizabeth Denny Box resided in Mobile co., AL. Sister Mary Ann "Polly" Denny Gibson resided in Greene co., MS and Lucinda Denny Faggard of MS.

Walter married 1) Nancy McKennon(d/o Samuel McKennon and Katherine Mcleod McKennon) who is said to have died after child birth in 1858. If so, the child evidently died also. In the 1860 census Walter and his four sons were living at Elders Ferry, Jackson co., MS. Walter married 2) Mary Eliza White (d/o Robert White). Walter Denny was the proprietor of a large Saw Mill at Moss Point, MS

Walter and second wife Mary's daughter Mary "Mayme" E. m. on March 14, 1898, Jackson co., MS Dr. John Benton Chamberlin.

Daughter Irene Denny married Dr.Edward Bloomfield in Dec 23, 1886, and she died in 1889. Her younger sister Emily "Emma" Elliot Denny m. Dr. Edward Bloomfield Apr 22, 1891 and raised her sister's two daughters. Emily had no children of her own.
