Roy Winford Butler, 76, died Wednesday, May 3, at his home in Franklin. Mr. Butler was a retired construction worker for Warren Paving Co., Navy veteran of World War II and member of Craigfield Church of Christ. He is survived by his wife, Esther R. Butler; a daughter, Doris Martin of Franklin; a sister, Martha Gamble of Madison; two brothers, Robert E. Butler of Palatka, Fla., and Oscar Lee Butler of Chattanooga; and four grandchildren, Michelle Parsley, Shannon Parsley, Shane Martin and Ray Martin. Funeral services will be held on Friday, May 5, at 1 p.m., at Franklin Memorial Chapel with Brother Bernard Tidwell officiating. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Shannon Parsley, Shane Martin, Ray Martin, J.R. Gamble, Oscar Butler and Phillip Ford. Franklin Memorial Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
