JOSEPH HENRY BLITCH

Joseph Henry Blitch of Route 4, Walterboro, died Monday at the Baptist Medical Center, Columbia, after an extended illness.
Mr. Blitch was born July, 14, 1911in Ellabelle, GA, a son of the late Luther A. Blitch and Mrs. Annabelle Adams Blitch. He was retired from the U.S. Army, the SC Forestry Commission, a former employee of J.P. Stevens, Inc. and a member of the American Legion Post No. 93 and V.F.W. Post No. 5936. He as a Methodist.
Surviving are: two sons, Joseph Robert Blitch of Ladson and William Luther Blitch of Charlotte, NC; a daughter, Miss Elizabeth A. Blitch of Columbia; two sisters, Mrs. Mary B. Neatherly of Piney Flats, TN and Mrs. Grace B. Dew of Portsmouth, VA; one adopted grandson, Joseph Jay Blitch.
The funeral will be held at 11 am Thursday (today) at the chapel of The Brice W. Herndon and Sons Funeral Home. Rev. Rus Rutan will officiate. Interment with full military honors will be in The Beaufort National Cemetery.
