Marjorie Kimball Giles "Our Beloved Mother" After 35 years, our mother,
grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend, Marjorie Kimball Giles joined
her eternal companion Parley. She passed away peacefully on April 23, 2007, in
Salt Lake City, UT. She was born December 24, 1914 in Salt Lake City, Utah to
Heber Chase Kimball and Pearl Elizabeth Smith. She graduated from LDS High
School in 1931 and LDS Business College in 1933. She married Parley Pratt Giles
February 11, 1938 in the Salt Lake Temple, who passed away March 1, 1972. As an
active member of the LDS Church, she served as a Visiting Teacher, Primary
President, Relief Society President, Primary Stake Board member, Primary and
Sunday School teacher. She was a life long member of the Daughters of Utah
Pioneers (DUP) and a charter member of the Douglas DUP Camp. She also served in
the Chicago Temple Mission. Marjorie was devoted to her family and loved to
spend time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved
music and was a choir member all her life. She enjoyed playing games and usually
won. She was a member of many clubs and study groups. She also retired from the
LDS church and S&W foods as a secretary. Mom has left a "legacy of love" to her
vast posterity and many friends and will be dearly missed. Mom is survived by
her sister Barbara Fraser (William) and six children: Parley Jr. (Linda), Kenai
AK; Marilyn Peterson (Gary), Copenhagen, Denmark Mission; David (Karen), Salt
Lake City, UT; Ronald (Julie), Salt Lake City, UT; Louise Plummer (David),
Peachtree City, GA; John (Randee), Erda, UT; 38 grandchildren and 70
great-grandchildren. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, April 28, 2007, 12
noon at the Foothill 7th Ward, 2215 East Roosevelt Ave. (1520 South). Friends
may call Friday from 6-8 p.m. at Larkin Sunset Lawn, 2350 E. 1300 So. and
Saturday at the ward from 10:30-11:30 a.m. prior to services. Interment at
Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park, 3401 So. Highland Dr. Online condolences at
