Daughter of Justus & Charlotte (nee Reublin) Mother of Earl, Wirt, Lee, Byron, Henry

Mrs. Chas. E. Bronson passed away in this city, Thursday evening, September 8th, 1921, following a lingering and painful illness. Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon, the services being conducted by J. Frank Moore, pastor of the First Congregational church of this city. Interment was made in Oakland cemetery.

Jennie E. Shelden was born at Berea, Ohio, December 14th, 1848. Her girlhood was spent in her native state, and where she received her education. Her marriage with Charles F. Bronson occurred at Earlville, Iowa, on June 29th, 1868. All of their married life was spent in Manchester.

Mrs. Bronson was the mother of five sons, four of whom survive her. They are Earl Bronson of Spencer, Iowa; Lee Bronson of Craig, Sask., Canada; Byron Bronson of Muskogee, Oklahoma, and Henry Bronson, of this city. One son Wirt, died nine years ago. She is also survived by a number of grandsons and granddaughters.

Mrs. Bronson was a devoted wife and mother, and in her earlier life took an active interest in the social life of this city. She was singularly devoted to her family, and in her last days she was tenderly cared for by her children. When her condition became serious her son Byron and his wife came here from Muskogee and devoted their entire time to kindly ministrations for their mother.

Mrs. Bronson was a member of the Eastern Star, and was active in the work of the order up to the time of failing health. She had a large circle of close friends who, with the members of her family, will miss the good woman.
