Jackie Closson, 71, of Plano, Texas passed away April 4, 2009.

She was born April 11, 1937, in Severy, Kan., to Harry and Florence (Wilson) Simons. Jackie was raised in Kelso, where she graduated from Kelso High School in 1955.

On June 15, 1957, she married David Charles Closson in Kelso. She worked for MCI for 17 years. Prior to that she worked for Rockwell International. She was of the Christian faith.

She is survived by her daughters, Diane Graef and her husband, David of Rockwall, Texas, and Shellie Closson of Plano; five grandchildren, Heather Grace and her husband, Brian, Jackie Martin and her husband, Greg, Dakota Closson, Jerika Robinson and Jenny Robinson; seven great-grandchildren, Ashlee, Tiffany, Gracie, Emma, Sophie, Maddy and Gabby; a sister, Mary Dyrland of Longview; and numerous nieces, nephews and other loving relatives, some of whom live in Longview.

She was preceded in death by her husband, David Closson; a grandson, Mikey Nabor; and a brother, Joe Simons.

A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the Chapel at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home in McKinney, Texas with Pastor Ken Westerman officiating. Interment will follow at Ridgeview Memorial Park in Allen, Texas. The family will receive friends beginning at 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.
