Nellie Beota Self, 80, of Clovis, a cafeteria cook, died Sunday, March 18, 2001, at Northeastern Regional Hospital in Las Vegas, N.M.

She was born on July 13, 1920, in Topeka, Kan., to Arthur and Emma Cadell Billington.

She came to Clovis in the 1930s and married Raymond Self on March 21, 1954. She was a cafeteria cook for the Clovis Public Schools at Parkview Elementary and was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church. She also worked for Magic Steam Laundry. She enjoyed sewing, cooking and embroidery.

She was preceded in death by one daughter, Patricia Allred; her parents, Arthur and Emma Cadell Billington; two brothers, Silas Billington and Henry Billington; and one sister, Lois Johnson.

Survivors include her husband, Raymond Self; three sons, Gene Felty of Texas, Leon O'Brien of Tucumcari and Benton Felty of Libby, Mont.; five daughters, Mary Nay and Sharon Douglas, both of Clovis, Robin Williams of Briggs, Texas, Peggy Austin of Alamogordo and Carol Smith of Allen, Texas; 19 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at the Chapel. The Rev. Ron Brewer will officiate.

Burial will be at Texico Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Bernard Douglas, Jerry Austin, Willie Williams Jr., Bryan Austin, Trey Williams and Pete Berry.

Arrangments are by Muffley Funeral Home.
