Naomi Bunker Bird, age 88 of Bellingham, passed away peacefully on August 27,2005,at a Bellingham Hospital. She was born to Harry and Inda (Smith) Bunker in Pettibone, North Dakota, on August 1, 1917. She married her true love, Ralph Bird, on December 8, 1937, and were married for 66 years when Ralph passed away in 2004. Ralph and Naomi moved to Whatcom cty in 1946, where she was a homemaker and raised their nine children who survive her, Dourland(Arlene) Bird of Ferndale, Dale Downs and Larry (Lee) Bird of Custer, Gloria Hodges of Ocla, Fl, Beverly (Dan) MacKner of Ellensburg, Garold (Diane) Bird of Blaine, William (Darlene) Bird of Lynden, Robert (Peggy) Bird of Sumas, and Karen (Bill) Terpsma of Bellingham. Also surviving Naomi are three sisters, Grace Craig of AZ, Bunk Carmichael of Florida, and Jean Miller of AZ; one brother, George Bunker; 25 grandchildren, 46 great-grandchildren; and six great-great grandchildren. Naomi was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Ralph; grandson Gary Bird; and three brothers, Lionel, Arthur and Lloyd Bunker. Funeral services for Naomi will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, September 2 at Greenacres Moles funeral home with interment to follow in Greenacres cem. Visitation will be from 9:00 to 9:45 a.m. on Friday. Naomi's family would like to thank the staff at St Joseph Hospital and Fairhaven estates for all of their support.
