Nannie was born in Murphy, Texas, and attended the Murphy and Dublin schools. She had 11 brothers and sisters. She was a 64 year member of the First Baptist Church in Garland, and a member of the Col. George Mason Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution. She assisted her husband Jess first with their farming and then with Jess Corley Real Estate. She was a talented seamstress and could make any type of clothing, quilts and needlework. She played the piano and the organ, and was a great cook.
